Engine
Be sure to read and understand the engine operation and maintenance manuals before starting or doing any mainte-
nance on the engine.
Engine Room Ventilation System
• The bilge blower removes
explosive fuel fumes from the
engine compartment.
• Fresh air is drawn into the
compartment through the
deck vents.
• The blower switch is at
the helm.
To make sure the engine com-
partment is ventilated with fresh
air, run the bilge blower:
• For at least four minutes
before starting the engine.
• During starting.
• Anytime your boat is running
below cruising speed.
FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARD
• Use of the blower system is NOT A GUARANTEE that explosive fumes have been removed.
• If you smell fuel, DO NOT start the engine and DO NOT turn on any electrical devices.
• If you smell fuel and the engine is already running, SHUT OFF the engine and TURN OFF
all electrical devices. Investigate immediately.
• DO NOT obstruct or modify the ventilation system.
